This is it....

Hello Parents,

It has been great this year serving as the elementary school principal of EHCS.  As we see this school year end, we reflect on the events that made this a great year for all of us. When we started the school year, we could see all the challenges that lay ahead of us, and it did appear a little daunting at times - a huge mountain that lay ahead of us to climb. But my, what a wonderful year it has been: a year of challenges met, mountains climbed, and summits conquered!

We are proud of the many accomplishments and successes of all our staff and students throughout the year. Our students have demonstrated success through academic achievement as well as
extra-curricular and leadership activities.

I am looking forward to the end-of-the-year activities. Please plan on attending the awards programs and graduation ceremonies, if possible. The students really enjoy when their parents are able to come to school. You are truly a part of their education. I want to thank you personally for the support you have given the faculty and staff this year.

Congratulations to our 4th graders as they move on to middle school next year. They have their recorder concert tonight at 6 p.m.! Tomorrow (no lunch needed for 4th grade) we will be having a pizza party to honor our sweet friends before they head off to middle school next year!

A few other things on the agenda for next week:

**Monday: Awards day (1st-4th grade) starting at 9:00 a.m. in the high school gym.
**Tuesday: Kindergarten Graduation at 8:30 a.m. in the middle school gym.

** Summer Reading List is updated on a new link. It's called "Summer Reading" and it will be on the top right of the blog!

I wish to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our PTO for their work and dedication in building programs that support all students at Ezell-Harding Christian School. Regardless of the need, we have been able to depend on our parents for assistance.

Next year we will be welcoming many new students who are joining our Eagle family.
We will use this past year as a stepping stone as we continue to establish traditions and promote school pride. Although we are turning the final pages of chapter one, we look forward to writing the chapters of the future.

Thank you for reading my blogs all year. In this last one, I really wanted to share what an amazing year this has been and what a tremendous blessing you all are to me! I have enjoyed working with parents and students alike! I am honored to be able to see your children every day! Don't forget our final events next week. I look forward to seeing you all very soon!

Blessings,

Your Principal,

Kristin Bledsoe

Wow- so close...

Hello Parents,
This has been a productive year of learning for our students'.  Your children's eagerness and willingness to learn is a reflection on the importance you attach on their education. Bill Beattie stated, "The aim of education should be to teach us rather how to think, than what to think - rather to improve our minds, so as to enable us to think for ourselves, than to load the memory with thoughts of other men." This year we have encouraged our students to be the best people they can be and to take ownership of their decisions. We want them to think for themselves and guide them in the right direction. We have such a special group of students here at EHCS, and as always, I am glad to call them family!

With only two weeks left, we need to go over our last couple of events for the year.

Tonight, our 2nd – 4th graders will be honored at the Elizabeth Brashears Celebrate Literacy Awards Program that is being held at Goodpasture Christian School. The program begins at 5:30 p.m. Again, this is another proud moment for our students, who have worked very hard writing their own stories!

Friday, May 4, is our second play by our Fine Arts Drama Club! The anticipation of seeing Twisted Fairy Tales is killing me! I can't wait to see our talented friends perform! The play will take place at 7:00 p.m. in the high school gym!! PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT MRS. ICE AND ALL OUR STUDENTS WHO HAVE WORKED SO HARD TO PUT THIS PLAY ON!!

MAKE-A-WISH: Next Wednesday, May 9, the family who will be receiving the wish is coming to our school. We have done it! We have raised $7,000 so that we can make a child's wish come true! THE WHOLE SCHOOL IS GOING TO WEAR THEIR MAKE-A-WISH T-SHIRT and JEANS ON MAY 9! It is going to be an awesome experience for our students. They each had a hand in making this happen! Thank you for your support of this service project!

May 10 will be our seventh annual 4th Grade Recorder Concert! The performance will be located in the middle school gym at 6:00 p.m. Our students have been working very hard all year to learn how to play the recorder and earn belt-levels in "Recorder Karate." Please come out and hear how much they have accomplished.

May 11 we will be having our fourth grade send-off party. Mrs. Jones, Miss Clevenger, and I will be providing lunch for our 4th grade friends. It is sad to see them leave for middle school, but I know they are ready for the next phase in their lives.

Half Days on May 14 - May 17. We dismiss at 11:00 a.m.

May 14 - Awards Day at 9:00 a.m.

May 15 - Kindergarten Graduation at 8:30 a.m.

May 17 - Last half-day of school.
