Policies:
Attendance/Pickup
All Fine Arts Academy students will meet in the elementary cafeteria at 2:45 after being dismissed from their classrooms. Attendance will be taken in the cafeteria. Students may have a snack at this time. The Fine Arts Academy will not provide the snack. If your student wishes to have a snack, please send one from home. At 3:00 students will be dismissed to their activities. At the conclusion of their activity students will be dismissed to the eagle’s nest for pickup. Parents may pull up to the front of the elementary school for pickup. For the safety of our students, please only line up in the far right hand lane for loading students. Any student not picked up within five minutes of the activity dismissal time will be sent to extended day. The rates for extended day are $3.00 an hour.
Fees
All activity fees other than a dance combo class should be paid in full before participating in any Fine Art Academy activity. Fees are paid for an entire semester and are non-refundable.
Fees will not be prorated for absences, missed school days, or cancellations due to conflicts with other school activities.
The uniform fee and one full month’s tuition for all dance combo classes are required before participating in a class. For all succeeding months, payment is required on the first dance class of the month. A late fee of $5.00 will be added if payment is not received by the second dance class of the month.
Conduct
Students participating in the Fine Arts Academy are expected to maintain excellent behavior. Student misconduct will not be tolerated. If during any activity a student exhibits improper behavior, he/she will be sent to the director, Laura Ice, for the duration of the class. A note will be sent home. After two such incidents the student will be removed from the activity all together and any fees paid to the Fine Arts Academy will not be refunded. Any student who exhibits improper behavior while on a field trip or at a performance will be immediately dismissed from the academy and any fees paid to the Fine Arts Academy will not be refunded.
Performances/Field trips
Field trips and performances will be planned throughout the school year for the benefit of our Fine Art Academy students. Please make every effort for your student to attend these special
Uniform for Dance Combo classes
All students participating in a dance combo class must be in dance uniform. The dance uniform is provided to all dance students at a cost of___________. Students may not be allowed to participate in the class if the proper uniform is not worn.
Participation and placement
Every Fine Arts Academy class has a limit to the number of students who may participate in any given activity. Most classes are filled on a “first come, first served” basis. Once the class enrollment has reached its capacity, no other students may enroll. Students are encouraged to return the application and required fees promptly to ensure placement in the activity of his/her choice.
Participation in the Musical Theatre productions class is by auditions only. Students wanting to enroll in the Musical Theatre class must fill out an application and bring it with him/her to auditions. Auditions consist of singing in a group, acting in a group, singing pitches individually, and acting out a mini scene individually (example: student may act out, “walking on a tight rope”.)
As always, please contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. Thank you.
