I hope you all have had a wonderful week. Ours has been very exciting with our Valentine's Day activities. I had the best time watching our wonderful students walk around and share their love. They had smiles on their faces and they truly enjoyed giving out their "love"/ Valentines to their friends and teachers. 1 Corinthians 13 it describes what love should be: "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres." With the giving of many Valentines this year, I saw lots of love and kindness. What a wonderful group of children we have in our EHCS family!
Let's talk about Box Tops. We have a few weeks left before the deadline of February 27. I will now reveal how the prizes will work for our top classes. I will be combining each grade level totals, so the winners will be grade levels and not individual classes. In conclusion, many students will win so keep cutting, clipping, and bagging those box tops. The prizes will be as follows:
3rd place: Pizza and ice cream party
2nd place: Extra 30 minutes of PE, plus pizza, & ice cream party
Grand Prize Winner: Extra 30 minutes of PE, Pizza and ice cream party, plus... six students will have their names drawn out of a hat and will get to throw a PIE in my face in front of the entire Elementary School.
We are continuing our efforts in our service project for Make-A-Wish. T-shirts are still available, if you would like to buy one, and we will be having a "Make-A-Wish" T-shirt and jeans day on February 29. Each building is also coming up with ways to raise money for Make-A-Wish. Our elementary friends love to dress up and be out of uniforms, so we are going to have four days in the months of March/April in which your child can participate by paying $2 to dress up each week. The MONEY WILL HELP OUR SERVICE PROJECT!! Here are the days:
March 7: "Serious day" (The business side of education - suits ect.)
March 14: "Backwards day"
March 28: "Back in the day" (Hippies, 70's, 80's dress)
April 4: "Western/farm day" (overalls, pig tails, painted freckles on faces, cowboys, and cowgirls)
You do not have to participate in any of these days, and if students want to wear jeans and an Ezell T-shirt on these select days you can if they PAY $2; otherwise, they are to be in their regular school uniforms! We are trying to make a child's wish come true, and together with some "cool" dress up days, we can help make it happen!
